From Common Sense Media, a new award for PTAs to help prevent cyber-bullying...
Cyber-bullying is a serious issue for our children and youth, and we have resources to help your PTA do something about it.
California State PTA has partnered with Common Sense Media on an education campaign, called “Stand up, Don’t Stand By.”
If your PTA offers a parent education program that addresses responsible use of digital media, your PTA may apply for a PTA and Common Sense Media Parent Education Award of $500.
The due date for submissions is March 1.

Common Sense Media provides everything you need to put on a parent education programwith an online "cyberbullying toolkit" specially designed for PTA leaders. Many of the materials are available in Spanish as well as English. They include:

This is one of several ways California State PTA is working to reduce bullying, including sponsoring legislation signed into law last year that helps to protect students from bullying and harassment.
