Thank you for your interest in the 12th District PTA Website. My name is Kim Holden and I am the VP of Leadership for the 2009-2011 school years. It is my goal to assist councils and units with all their leadership needs.

Our children are the future and PTA's and PTSA's need to build strong leaders for the future of their unit and or council. It is important that all PTA leaders realize the importance and qualities of good leadership.

Qualities of good Leadership:

Have a vision - Believe in your idea.
Be positive and enthusiastic - Turn challenges into new and better strategies.
Empower others rather than control them.
Seek out talented individuals and provide them with opportunities to gain experience, and acquire new skills.
Listen - Communicate with others and really understand what points and ideas are being expressed.
Be flexible. Understand at times change is unavoidable. Be positive and supportive.
Set Goals and go after them. Encourage others to learn. Don't be afraid to ask others to become involved.
Keep the dream alive.
